About Ting
What is Ting?
Ting is a cross-border business services group working across the UK, Europe and Asia. Think of us as your central management office: we combine chartered accounting discipline, practical business experience and fluency in both Asian and European ways of working.
We're an outsourcing company. Ting provides the infrastructure to deliver your business services, combining technology with real human connection. TingCloud is the platform that lets you reach our services wherever you are.
Who do you work with?
We handle both inbound work (founders from across Asia coming to the UK and Europe) and outbound work (UK and European businesses entering Asian markets).
- Cross-border companies with international employees
- Companies supplying services or products across borders
- Family offices with interests in more than one country
- New founders setting up their first company
- Existing companies that want to hand off their back office
- International founders running a business in another country
- Local solo founders who want full back-office support
We have staff in several countries. Can you run payroll for all of them?
Yes. Ting HR runs payroll per country, including UK payroll (wages, PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and student loans). Staff enter their timesheets from their phone, payslips are emailed to them, and payroll is posted straight into Ting Accounting.
We also support recruitment and training for teams in the countries we cover.
We supply services or products to customers abroad. How does TingCloud help?
You can raise sales invoices, have them approved by your team, send them by email, WhatsApp, SMS or post, and follow up with credit control. Supplier bills follow the same approval flow.
For cross-border payments, we check withholding tax and help you keep your transfer pricing in order.
Do you work with family offices?
Yes. We give family offices one view across their entities and countries, with accounting and tax, budgets and forecasts in Ting CFO, and business intelligence reporting.
Before you commit to a new partner or investment, Ting Due D can carry out financial, legal and special investigation checks. We don't move funds between countries; that part is best handled by your lawyers.
Which countries do you cover?
We started in the United Kingdom. Malaysia and Singapore come next, followed by Europe, Hong Kong, mainland China, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.
In Hong Kong and mainland China we work with local business partners.
How is pricing worked out?
We quote each client based on the actual work involved, so you pay for what your business needs rather than a one-size package.
Can I own and run a UK company without moving to the UK?
Yes. We can provide a registered office and local client-facing staff, and run your accounting and compliance through TingCloud, so you can operate a UK company from wherever you live.

Who prepares my accounts and tax returns?
Your accounts are prepared by CIMA/ACCA-qualified Ting staff.
Ting provides internal audit, reviewing your controls, processes and records. Ting doesn't carry out external (statutory) audits; if your company needs one, we refer you to an independent registered audit firm.
For tax, we prepare the underlying work and a licensed local tax agent in each country submits the filing.
Do you handle withholding tax and transfer pricing?
Yes, through Ting Tax and Ting Cross-Border. We start with UK rules and add other countries over time.
Your package covers the routine checks. Specialist work by a Ting tax professional is an extra service, quoted for your business, in the same way as credit control management.
- Withholding tax: we check payments to overseas recipients, such as interest and royalties. Treaty-rate reviews, HMRC clearances and CT61 returns are part of the paid Withholding Tax & Treaty Relief service
- Transfer pricing: a Ting accountant checks your intercompany agreements and pricing method are in place. Larger arrangements, or groups that aren't exempt, get a Specialist Transfer Pricing Review and documentation from a Ting tax professional
How do you carry out due diligence on international partners, distributors and investment opportunities?
Through Ting Due D. We agree what you need to know and how deep to go, then check the other side in three areas before you sign. You get a plain-English report of what we found, the risks, and what to ask for or protect in the deal, so you can decide with confidence.
- Financial: their accounts, cash, debts and tax position, and whether the numbers add up
- Legal: company registration and ownership, key contracts, licences and any disputes, reviewed by independent legal professionals we coordinate
- Special investigations: human-led background and reputation checks on the company and the people behind it, in their own country
Are your special investigations legal and data-protection compliant?
Yes. Special investigations are carried out by our specialist investigation partner, whose own legal team makes sure their methods and the way they collect, use and store personal data comply with the law in each country they work in, including UK GDPR where it applies.
Before we start, you give us the details of who to check and sign an agreement confirming the investigation is for a legitimate business purpose, such as checking a partner or investment before you sign, and that the findings are for your use only. We share them only with you, never with anyone else.
Can you help move money between countries?
No. Moving funds between countries is outside our services. We'd recommend speaking to a lawyer for that part, and we're happy to work alongside them on the accounting side.
What is Ting Connect?
Ting Connect is the projects area in TingCloud. It keeps our conversations and project updates in one place: you and your team can see what the Ting team is working on, what's outstanding and what we need from you, without chasing updates by email.
How are confidential documents shared?
Ting Connect keeps our conversations and project updates in one place. Confidential documents will continue to be sent separately by email as password-protected attachments, with passwords shared through a separate channel.
So the password never travels with the file: for example, we email the attachment and send the password by text, WhatsApp or phone. Please don't post confidential documents or passwords in Ting Connect messages.
What's the difference between Ting Connect and Ting Workspace?
Ting Connect is online: shared projects and progress in TingCloud. Ting Workspace is physical: desks and meeting rooms you can use in person.
TingCloud
What is TingCloud?
TingCloud is built as an essential commercial operating system for cross-border companies with international employees, companies that supply services or products, and family offices. It is where you work with Ting. You upload your documents, our AI does a first pass on the bookkeeping, and a Ting consultant reviews it. You can also follow your projects in Ting Connect and see your reports.
What can I upload as evidence for a transaction?
Upload the actual invoice or receipt, as a PDF or a clear photo. An email that mentions a payment isn't accepted as proof on its own.
Can my team approve invoices before they go out?
Yes. You choose who prepares invoices (Ting staff or your own team) and who approves them, for example your Head of Department. Purchase bills follow the same approval flow before they're posted.
Can I ask questions about my numbers?
Yes. With Ask your numbers, in Ting Accounting and Ting CFO, you type a question in plain English, such as "Will my cash stay healthy over the next 12 months?" or "What are my biggest costs?", and get a short answer with a chart.
Charts are drawn straight from your own posted books, never made up by the AI. Every answer shows which report its numbers come from and when they were read, so you or your accountant can check them.
It's included in every TingCloud package at no extra cost, with up to 300 questions a month for each company. With Ting CFO, our paid add-on, you get 600 questions a month.
What is the 'Recommended for you' panel?
It suggests Ting services that may help, based on the projects you're working on with us. Ting staff can see and remove suggestions, and you're never obliged to take one up.
How do I pay for my TingCloud package?
Once we've agreed your package and price, we email you a secure Stripe checkout link. Card details are entered on Stripe's page, never sent to us.
Can TingCloud file directly to HMRC or Companies House?
Filings are currently handled by the Ting team on your behalf. Direct filing from TingCloud is being built.
Referrals
Who can refer a friend?
Anyone. You don't need to be a Ting client to refer someone.
How much do I get for a referral?
For TingCloud packages, the reward depends on the package your friend signs up for. The current amounts are shown on the Refer a Friend page.
For other Ting services, such as marketing or market expansion, referrals are by application and earn 10% commission.
Is there a limit on how much I can earn?
No. There's no cap on referral rewards. If you're a client, referral credit carries forward and doesn't expire.
What's the professional introducer programme?
It's for people who regularly introduce businesses to Ting. Introducers can refer across all Ting services, not only accounting, and earn higher fees. It's open to anyone who wants to help friends and contacts.
Security & data
How does TingCloud keep my data safe?
We protect your data in layers, so no single safeguard is the only thing standing between your information and someone who shouldn't see it.
- Sign-in: passwords are stored only as secure hashes, never as readable text, and you can turn on two-factor sign-in
- Connection: everything between your browser and TingCloud is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
- Separation: each company's books and documents are kept apart from every other client's, and every request is checked against the company you belong to
- Staff access: Ting staff can only see the clients and work they're assigned to
- Files: uploaded documents are private and only served after an access check
- Connections: keys for services you connect, such as HMRC or your bank, are encrypted at rest (AES-256)
- Payments: card details are entered on Stripe's secure page and never reach TingCloud
- Records: important account and billing changes are logged, and security logs are kept for up to twelve months
- Backups: the database is backed up regularly, with protection from Amazon Web Services (AWS), so it can be restored if something goes wrong
Where is my data stored?
TingCloud's database and files are run by specialist cloud hosting providers under written contracts that require appropriate security. Database protection and backups use Amazon Web Services (AWS). Some of our suppliers are outside the UK; when data leaves the UK we use the legal safeguards UK data protection law requires.
Our privacy notice lists the types of suppliers we use and how international transfers are protected.
Is my data backed up?
Yes. TingCloud's database is backed up regularly and the backups are protected with Amazon Web Services (AWS), kept separate from the live system. If something goes wrong, we can restore your books and records from a recent backup.
Can I turn on two-factor sign-in?
Yes. Go to Settings in your TingCloud dashboard and turn on two-factor authentication. You'll then confirm each sign-in with a code from an authenticator app as well as your password.
Does AI see my documents? Is my data used to train AI?
When you upload a receipt or invoice, AI reads it to suggest a bookkeeping entry, and a Ting professional reviews every suggestion before it's posted.
We use Anthropic's paid API for this. Data sent through it is not used to train their models.
Who at Ting can see my information?
Only the Ting staff working on your account, and only for the work they do for you. People in your own company see what your company's settings allow.
How do I report a security concern?
Email hello@tingcloud.ai straight away and put "Security" in the subject line. If you think someone else has your password, change it in Settings and turn on two-factor sign-in.
Does TingCloud follow UK GDPR?
Yes. Our privacy notice explains what personal data we hold, why, how long we keep it and who we share it with.
TingCloud Limited and Ting Accounting & Tax Services are each the controller for their own services. Where we handle data about your customers, suppliers or staff for you, for example in bookkeeping, we act as your processor and only on your instructions.
When data leaves the UK, we use the safeguards UK law requires. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Can I get a copy of my data or ask you to delete it?
Yes. Email hello@tingcloud.ai and we'll reply within one month. You can ask for a copy of your personal data, or ask us to correct it, delete it or send it to you or another organisation in a portable format.
Some records, such as accounting and tax records, we must keep for as long as the law requires, even if you ask us to delete them. We'll tell you if that applies.
Switching or leaving
Can I get an export of my records?
Yes. Email hello@tingcloud.ai and we'll give you an export of your records, so you have your full history if you move to another provider or software.
You can also bring data into TingCloud by importing transactions from a CSV file.
How do you hand over if I move to another accountant?
Your company's books and documents are kept separately from every other client's, so they can be handed over cleanly. Tell us who your new accountant is and we'll provide an export of your records.
You manage who can access your company in TingCloud. You can invite people and remove their access when it's no longer needed.
What happens if I close my TingCloud account?
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing hello@tingcloud.ai. You keep ownership of everything you uploaded or entered, and we can give you an export of your records before or after it closes.
After closing, we keep records only for as long as the law requires, as explained in our privacy notice.
Support
How do I raise a support request?
Sign in to TingCloud and open Support from your dashboard. Choose a category, describe the issue and submit. You'll get a ticket number, such as REQ-0042, and an email confirmation. You can see the status of every request you've raised on the same page.
You can also email Ting customer service at hello@tingcloud.ai. If your message is about an existing request, include its ticket number.
Not a client yet? Use the contact form and we'll get back to you.
What should I not put in a support request?
Please don't include passwords, card numbers or bank account numbers. If we need documents, upload them in TingCloud and mention the file name in your request.
What if my issue is urgent?
Say so in your request and include any filing or payment deadline date, so the team can prioritise it. If you need to chase, email hello@tingcloud.ai with your ticket number.
